Thanks for making your visit to Paris romantic and alive for us. Grandma was looking up the Louvre in one of our old dictionaries and out fell a ticket stub from our visit when we were over there in Germany on foreign assignment. It was number 700017 MUSEES NATIONAUX ENTREE 5F with box A checked. On the other side it reads Controles Automatiques. Now that is probably way more than anyone would want to know but never say I didn't do anything for you, or is this getting weird? Anyway, we were surprised and got a kick out of it showing up after all these years. Without your post, we would never have known it was there.
We also only went to the second level of the Eiffel because the top level was closed. There is a James Bond Movie that has a black lady leaping off the top level with a kite and a whip in order to get away from, you guessed who! It gives one a good sense of how things look from up there and I think it would be worth the trip if it were open to the public.
